Capital Baby Planners on TV

So yesterday we were on Channel WUSA 9 News at noon in the Moms Like Me segment with Peggy Fox (click on the link above to see us in action)! In the segment, we featured our favorite products for traveling with children. After Benadryl (oops, just kidding!), we recommend a Britax Marathon 70 (always need the safest in car seats for car and air travel) along with the GoGo Kidz Travelmate by GoGo Babyz (there is no other civilized way of getting a car seat through a crowded airport), Born Free bottles (sucking helps clear little ears) or a sippy cup with straw (ditto), the "Knot it" by Prince Lionheart (a seriously amazing invention – it’s basically one long bag rolled up into a small plastic canister, out of which you can pull and “knot” any size bag for dirty diapers, wet bathing suits, you name it), the Ergo Baby Carrier (see comment about civilized airport maneuvering), Baby Banz sunglasses and sun hat (must, must, must for summer vacations), and Blue Lizard sun block (which we love because it’s fragrance- and dye-free). We had a fabulous time hanging with Peggy Fox, who is really tapped into the expectant and new mom community and really just “gets it.” And the being on TV part – we could definitely get used to that!

For all you new moms out there, check out http://dc.momslikeme.com. It’s a great forum for bringing mothers together to share experiences and advice, find out about events in the area, and even form play groups – just an all-around great way to stay connected.

Thank you to Peggy Fox and her team! You made us feel comfortable and your energy was contagious. Thanks for the great experience!

Celebrate Mama!

What a beautiful and amazing day we had at Celebrate Mama in Bethesda! It was wonderful to meet and connect with so many expectant and new parents in the area -- you were all fabulously fun and interesting to hang out with yesterday. We met, among many super-fab others: a hilariously funny mommy blogger; a dad who came by himself all the way from Japan to house shop for his wife, 3 daughters, and child on the way (who did not care to show his/her parts at the one ultrasound they were allowed -- and apparently the Japanese have not jumped on the ultrasound-in-the-mall bandwagon!); a mom who thought she was all done having children and donated all of her 5-year-old's baby gear, only to find out that she's expecting once again; and an expectant mom and dad who had shared their baby's gender with their 9-year-old daughter, but not with anyone else, including the baby's grandpa, who was with them at the event. Five hours and the time flew, thanks to all of you!

The event itself was a huge success. Hilary Berman from Berman Events (bermanevents.com) did a fabulous job putting it all together -- thank you for including us! We loved seeing new and old friends: Safestart Baby (safestartbaby.com), Pat Keating from Holy Cross Hospital (holycrosshealth.org/svc_maternity_main.htm), Eco Babies (ecobabiesonline.com), Brian at Equinox (equinox.com), Certifikid (www.certifikid.com), Mommy Relief (mommy-relief.com), Macaroni Kids Bethesda (bethesda.macaronikid.com), and the Breastfeeding Center of Washington DC (breastfeedingcenter.org), among many others!
Thanks Three Lollies (threelollies.com) -- the Preggie Pops were a big hit with our preggie visitors, and Moby Wrap (mobywrap.com), you made one lucky mama very happy!

Lastly, a HUGE thank you to Britax for the hands-down best raffle prize of the day! (britaxusa.com/strollers/b-ready)

We are so grateful for the support of all our fans, friends, and sponsors!
